Tax bills are mailed around the 1st of July for the summer billings, and around the 1st of December for the winter billings.

The summer bill is due September 14 and the winter bills are due February 28 or February 29 during leap years.
All of Cohoctah Township is well and septic. The only special assessments are for drain maintenances, and they would be assessed inside the winter bill if applicable.
The responsibility of assuring that taxes are paid resides with the property owner. Most financial institutions gather escrow information electronically, and do not request a paper bill from the township, so there is clear way to maintaining an exact escrow holder file. If you have recently changed banks, or have had problems in the past, you may contact the treasurer to verify payments.
Our office accepts partial payments. On March 1st, delinquent taxes are turned over to the Livingston County Treasurer’s office, and 5% is added at that time, so it is best to pay what you can before that time.
